Services

How can we help you?

We provide a wide range of counselling and mental health services

There are 4 primary ways we can help.

Individual Counselling.

Individual or one-on-one counselling, provides clients with an opportunity to explore their personal struggles within a safe and non-judgmental environment. Consider individual counselling if you want to:

Learn how to manage your mental health (eg. depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, self-esteem, etc.)
You’ve been mandated by the court to receive individual counselling
Work through trauma or grief
Learn how to build coping mechanisms, ie. manage conflicts or triggers

Couples Counselling.

When a couple first gets married, there is excitement, love, commitment and a sense of adventure. However, sometimes as the years pass, the family grows and the couple spends less and less time on their relationship. Instead of appreciating each other, the couple begins to speak negatively to each other, and, one or both partners may look elsewhere for support and comfort. Here are some areas that we may explore in couple therapy:

Discovering each partner’s needs
Learning healthy communication skills
Understanding each other’s thoughts, emotions and triggers
Learn how to restore your relationship after conflict
Exploring infidelity and trust issues

For pre-martial counselling, we use an assessment provided by Enrich Canada, highlighting the couple’s strengths and growth areas. It is used to help the couple equip themselves to handle possible conflicts in their future marriage.

The goal of couples therapy is to:
Help couples identify stressors that impact the relationship
Equip couples to build an emotional connection with each other and a secure bond
Create a safe place for couples to work through their stressors and create solutions
Exploring infidelity and trust issues

Emotionally-Focused therapy (EFT) is used for couples therapy. EFT is a brief therapy, taking about 8-20 sessions depending on the problem.

Family Counselling.

There is no standard definition for today’s families. Families can consist of a single parent and children, or the blending of more than one family, or a two-parent home, or family can even be defined as divorcing parents who want to create the safe environment for their children. No matter how you define family, at some point all families will have to navigate a family crisis. Sometimes our families are so impacted by their crisis that they need extra support. While in family therapy, we may explore some topics like:

Family dynamics
Parenting
Child or adolescent development
Grief
The impact of a mental illness on the entire family
Working through divorce
Post-divorce – how to co-parent
Sibling conflict
Blended families

The goal of family therapy is to help the family create stability through understanding, awareness, developing nurturing relationships, and using healthy communication skills between family members.

Community Workshops.

We are passionate about breaking the silence of mental health illness in our communities. I have over ten years of experience speaking and working with youth and families within churches.
